Tor House Foundation Presents an Evening Talk and Readings from Dark Mountain Project founder Paul Kingsnorth and Mythic Storyteller Martin Shaw.
Tickets to this event are Sold Out. Sorry!
Novelist and poet Paul Kingsnorth is founder of the Dark Mountain Project, an international network of writers and artists dedicated to challenging the stories our civilisation tells about itself, which was directly inspired by Jeffers' writing. Paul will talk about Dark Mountain and the contemporary urgency of Jeffers' message. He is joined by mythologist and author Dr Martin Shaw, described by Robert Bly as ‘one of the very best storytellers we have,’ who will talk about the relevance of myth to today’s world, and offer up an old story to the ‘wild gods’ of Jeffers’ home.
If you are unfamiliar with The Dark Mountain Project Manifesto, which bases many of its concepts on Jeffers' philosophy and poetry, you can read the online version here.
Tickets are on sale starting July 1. $25 per person. The event is limited to 35 attendees. Wine and light snacks are served starting at 6:30 at Tor House. Talks begin at 7PM.
Limited quantities of Paul's new book "Confessions of a Recovering Environmentalist" and Martin's recent book "Scatterings" will be available for sale and signing.
